Contractor-Logistics Coordinator

Position overview

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible physically receiving shipments of products and raw materials and electronically entering into inventory management system.  Material received will be distributed to owners in assigned designated locations.  The Logistics Coordinator is required to create all necessary paperwork for outbound shipments of products and materials shipped both domestically and internationally.  Also responsible for performing other related activities as assigned by the positions Manager.

Key Result Accountabilities                     

  1. Packaging of all outgoing consumable materials, which include time sensitive products to customers and clinical sites that are located domestically and internationally. Some of our products require remaining frozen during transit by shipping on dry ice, so the proper packaging of our products as defined in QMS documents is imperative. 

  2. Labeling of all outgoing consumable materials to make sure that product meets the regulatory and clearance requirements for the country that each specific product is shipped into.  This includes labeling requirements defined in QMS documents. 

  3. Maintaining a safe and organized packaging area so that materials can be properly packaged, labeled and shipped. 

  4. Transfer of consumable products from quarantine storage to released product storage upon successful completion of Quality Control testing and Quality Assurance approval. 

  5. Perform physical inventory counts of finished product (consumables) as requested by customer support, manufacturing and/or accounting/finance.

  6. Shipping and tracking of all outgoing materials, which include time sensitive products to customers and clinical sites. Some of our products require remaining frozen during transit by shipping on dry ice, so the tracking and on-time delivery of our products is imperative.


  1. Communication with our freight carriers and international distributors to resolve any shipping delays that may occur because of customs clearance and regulatory issues. 
  2. Maintain and take ownership of the docks. 

  3. Maintaining a safe and organized loading dock and limited warehouse space so that materials can be properly shipped, received and stored.


Environmental Working Conditions

 

Employee must comply with all safety policies and safe work procedures established by the company.  Job tasks may also involve:    

  • Using personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, goggles, gloves, and other equipment as established in company policies and safety work procedures.

  • Working near fluids, solvents, and other hazardous chemicals using appropriate safety controls.

Employee will be expected to attend safety training. 

Qualifications

  1. College Degree or equivalent work experience required with 1-3 years of experience in a customer support or administrative role.

  2. Ability to organize and judge priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and work independently with minimal supervision.

  3. Must possess excellent verbal & written communication skills, which include but are not limited to presentation, organizational and management skills.
