Technical Support Scientist

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with sales, marketing, service and customer support team to provide support for the successful placement, startup, training, and ongoing test utilization of Nanosphere customers, including:

  • On-site training of new and existing customers, including assay optimization (e.g. sample preparation).
  • On-site data collection and troubleshooting to assist in the resolution of product performance issues.
  • On site performance monitoring and re-training of current and new users as needed.

 

Assist as needed in market research efforts to help define new product development opportunities.

Assist as needed in the early development and optimization of new products for clinical microbiology applications.

Develop and provide ongoing training and education to the sales team relating to best practices for field training and troubleshooting.   

Where necessary, represent the company publicly in a commercial capacity at scientific symposia, tradeshows, or similar events. 

 

Experience and Qualifications

Candidate will be highly self-motivated, detail and results oriented, manage own schedule and work independently

B.S or equivalent in biology, chemistry, or related field with at least 2-4 years experience in basic research, clinical laboratory testing, or similar.

Experience in the area of technical product support preferred. 

Good understanding of technical and scientific principles of diagnostic test kits.

Experience with FDA regulated products.

Experience with product investigation processes in a regulated environment.

Ability to solve a broad range of problems of varying scope and complexity.

Ability to interface with cross-functional teams.

Must be independent hands-on resource as well as good team player.

Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work in a flexible changing environment.

Good project management skills; ability to interact with internal groups and customers on fast-paced projects.

Position is based out of company headquarters with 50-75% travel.

 

Candidates must be able to work in the United States on an unrestricted basis.
